Centrally located in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York, Ithaca driving to New York City, Philadelphia, and Toronto takes about four hours, and driving to Boston, Washington, DC, and Montreal takes less than six hours.
The local area is rich with historical sites, parks, wineries, and small towns.
The Finger Lakes region is home to many wineries and a few breweries. Leisurely drives on wine trails around the bucolic Cayuga and Seneca Lakes are popular ways to spend an afternoon away from the library. Many wineries are within a few miles of Ithaca, and one, Six Mile Creek Winery is within the city limits.
