*Students enrolled in the accelerated JD/MBA program will pay a higher tuition rate for their final two semesters of law school enrollment.

***Please note that this is an estimated rate and will be updated in the late summer when the current rates are released. Student health insurance is required for all students.
Budget Increases
Cornell Law School will grant budget increases on a case-by-case basis. As an incoming student it is important not to expect that we will increase your budget. It is always best to live within your means, budget, and be frugal.
A budget increase may be granted for the following:
- Medical expenses not covered by insurance
- Computer replacement costs (One time and not to exceed $2,000)
- Required book costs
These items may be considered on a case-by-case basis:
- Cost of living
- Travel
Please note that cost of living increases may not be approved. Do not count on receiving more funds than the published budget.
A budget increase will NOT be granted for:
- Car payments
- Consumer debt
- Furniture
- Summer living expenses
- Moving expenses
- Fall, Winter, and Spring break travel or trips
- Cell phones/internet service
- Sport and fitness club fees
If you are in need of a budget increase, please contact the financial aid office at law.financialaid@cornell.edu. Please be sure to have appropriate documentation to support your request. Submission deadlines are mid-November for Fall requests and mid-April for Fall/Spring or Spring only requests, please see the Budget Increase Request form in the forms section for specific dates.
Bursar Procedures
Tuition and university charges will be processed through the university bursar. You should receive your first bill in mid-July and it will be due in early-August. Financial aid offered by Cornell Law School will show as pending aid on that bill. If you apply for a private loan before July 1, that amount will also be reflected on your bill.
All refunds should be picked up at the Bursar Office located at Day Hall. If you have signed up for direct deposit your refund will be direct deposited into your account.
