Credit Card

To charge your gift, you will need to have the name of the credit card (American Express, Discover, Mastercard and Visa accepted), the account number and the expiration date available. Please contact the Annual Giving Office at (607) 255-5877 or give online.

Securities

Increasing numbers of alumni, parents, and friends are making gifts to the Law School using appreciated securities -- including publicly traded and privately held stock and mutual funds. The attraction of this method of giving is that the donor is entitled to take a charitable deduction for the full current value of appreciated securities held longer than one year, and is able to avoid paying the capital gains tax that would be due if the donor sold the securities.

For information on transferring securities, please contact Jennifer Saville, Office of Planned Giving at 1(800)377-2177 or the Office of External Relations at (607)255-5877.

Matching gifts

Many employers recognize the importance of philanthropy by agreeing to match or multiply donations made by active and retired employees and in some cases, employees' spouses and partners. Your gift to Cornell Law could double or triple in value. Please contact your personnel/human resources for matching gift forms.

Bequests

Many alumni and friends designating bequests to the Law School allow us to recognize their extraordinary commitment during their lifetime. For additional information, please contact Peter Cronin, Assoc. Dean for Alumni Affairs and Development, at (607) 255-3373.
