Our services don’t end at graduation. We are here to help you change careers and stay connected to current law students.
- Visit our jobs database, EZRA. Updated daily, our password-protected jobs database contains positions nationwide. You can search it by various parameters, such as location and practice area. EZRA can also email you new jobs that match your preferences. Visit EZRA and select “New Alumni Registration” to get started.
- Make a counseling appointment. Work with a counselor to re-assess your skills and interests and investigate new employment markets. Contact Lisa Carberry at (607) 255-5873 for an appointment.
- Check out our web resources. From classifieds to recruiters to research tools – you’ll find links to web resources targeted to alumni job search needs.
- You may want to visit a law school career office close to where you live in order to find local job listings or view local lawyer directories. Through an agreement with Cornell called “Reciprocity,” you can access such services at other law schools, usually between December and July. Reciprocity services vary, so visit NALP’s reciprocity page to investigate what services your local law school offers. Lisa Carberry to request reciprocity on your behalf. She will contact you once your request has been approved.
Your wealth of information about career development and the legal market is very valuable to current students. Consider sharing your knowledge by becoming a mentor. You can specify how you would like students to contact you -- via letter, email or phone - and how often per month you would like to be contacted.
To participate, register with the EZRA system. Click on “New Alumni Registration” and follow the directions for mentors.
Students are eager to contact alumni/ae when they know they will receive a warm response, and they will greatly appreciate your advice. Thank you for your participation!
