Cornell Law School Expansion & Renovation

Since the addition of the Jane Foster wing twenty-four years ago, the Law School has continued to grow steadily. Our faculty has expanded and will continue to expand, and we’ve added on average one new student per class since the Law School’s inception. We need classroom space, office space, and meeting and gathering space.

With the Cornell Law School Expansion Groundbreaking Ceremony on June 9, 2012, the Law School will begin a three-year expansion and renovation initiative to meet our needs for planned growth on a twenty-year horizon. The expansion and renovations project will create much-needed, “state-of-the-art,” interactive classroom space, break-out lobby and study space, a reinvigorated Purcell Courtyard, and a new entryway on College Avenue.

In concert with University architects, the Law School has partnered with Ann Beha Architects for this project, a firm that understands Cornell Law School and what we’re about – both our needs and our character, as well as our sense of community. Ann Beha is well known for melding traditional architecture with new additions and renovations.

It is time to break ground!
