Professional Biography

Katherine Stone is an internationally recognized authority on labor and employment law, and on alternative dispute resolution. After graduation from Harvard Law School, Prof. Stone practiced in New York City for five years, specializing in labor, constitutional, and civil liberties law. She began her teaching career in 1984 at Cardozo Law School. She joined Cornell Law School's faculty in 1992, holding a joint appointment with the University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations. Prof. Stone has held visiting appointments at Yale, Stanford, and University of Chicago law schools. She is extensively published in such journals as Yale Law Journal, University of Chicago Law Review, and Stanford Law Review. Her scholarship focuses primarily on labor and employment law, globalization and labor rights, and employment regulation in the changing workplace.
