Professional Biography

Before turning to teaching and serving as Cornell Law School's Dean from 1956 to 1963, Prof. Thoron enjoyed private practice with the New York City firm of Sullivan & Cromwell. He also served on the law faculty at University of Texas and visiting professor at University of Michigan. He also saw service as assistant to the Solicitor General of the United States, and was a member of the Laporte Legislative Ethics Commission in New York, and for one year was New York State Special Assistant Attorney General.
