Michael R. Berg Lecturer, Trial Advocacy (Spring term)

Professional Biography

Michael Berg has been confidential law clerk to the Honorable M. John Sherman, Tompkins County Court Judge since 1994. He was Chief Law Guardian, representing children in the Family Court for Law Guardian Office in Tompkins County from 1988 - 1994, handling hundreds of cases of abuse, neglect, termination of parental rights, and related matters. He has also been a Social Services Attorney in Tompkins County, an Administrative Law Judge for the NYS Department of Social Services, and an Assistant District Attorney in Tompkins County. He has held a variety of teaching and training positions, as well as maintained a general private practice. Mr. Berg has been teaching in the Trial Advocacy Program at Cornell Law School since 1995.
