Dawn Chutkow's current research uses empirical, qualitative, and legal analyses to explore the interactions among political institutions, particularly Congress and the courts. She earned an A.B. from Duke University, a J.D. from the University of Chicago, and a Ph.D. from Cornell University. She practiced law in Chicago, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, before entering academia. She has taught at both the law school and undergraduate level. Her research and teaching areas include judicial politics, torts, constitutional law, and political institutions. Professor Chutkow is Executive Editor of the Journal of Empirical Legal Studies.
