Class Recordings and Emergency Absences

Emergency absences beyond one week requires Registrar's Office signature and  Faculty signature (s). IT staff will make every effort to accommodate recording for emergency absences if a student will be out for a week or longer. 

Please bring signed request forms to IT Help Desk, room 372, for scheduling.

Absences due to religious holiday, interviews and career events can be requested but must include faculty approval via signature or email.  

For other absences less than one week, the student may make arrangements with a classmate to digitally record the class. A supply of MP3 recorders are at the library reserve desk for student use.

For the large capacity classrooms (285, 290, G85, G90, 390, 276, 277, 279), those recordings are in a video format. For all other classes, audio recordings will be made available.

All media is accessible through Cornell's Blackboard system or through special arrangements via the helpdesk. You will find your recorded classes under "Class Recordings" on the left-hand menu.

Every effort will be made to upload the recorded media in a timely fashion. Most audio recordings will be made available less than 24 hours after classes; while the large classroom videos will be accessible instantly.
