Cornell Law School may send up to four Cornell law students to study at ESADE’s law school each academic year.

Established in Barcelona in 1958, ESADE has a reputation as one of the best business schools in Europe. Its law school has an international focus and emphasizes economics, business and technology.

Barcelona, one of Europe’s leading cities, is located between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, in Spain’s northeastern corner, near the French border. Boasting a host of cultural activities and architectural treasures, Barcelona is also one of the most dynamic cities in the world.

ESADE's campus, surrounded by parks and gardens, is situated in one of the most attractive residential areas of the city, beside one of the main university areas and within easy reach of the historic center of Barcelona.

Academic Calendar:
Students may attend in either the Fall or Spring semesters. The academic calendar for 2008--09 is:

Fall semester: from 29 September 2008 to 23 January 2009. Exams fall semester: From 26 January to 13 February 2009 

Spring semester: from 17 February to 29 May. Exam spring semester: From 2 to 29 June 2009

Please note that special arrangements must be made to complete course requirements in order  to leave before the end of the semester.

ESADE also offers a free course for all Exchange Students who want to improve their Spanish.  It is conducted before the beginning of the Fall and Spring terms.  In 2007-08, the Fall Advanced Levell a 2-week intensive course, took place from 10-21 September 2007.

Sample Courses:

Courses taught in English are generally popular among international students. They include: European Union Internal Market, Competition Law, Comparative Law, Negotiation Skills, An Introduction to Spanish Law, Torts Law, Legal Ethics. But exchange students also may sign up for most of the Spanish-language courses offered in the law degree.

Twenty-four ESADE credits equal 12 Cornell credits.
