SEMESTER ABROAD OPPORTUNITIES
Cornell students may apply to spend one semester abroad during their fourth, fifth or sixth semesters of law school.
There currently are study abroad agreements with 15 partner schools. It is also possible for a student to design an individual “term away” at a foreign law faculty with which Cornell is not partnered.
Only students in the formal international dual-degree programs sponsored by Cornell Law School may be approved for study longer than one semester.
Please note: The Semester Abroad opportunities are for Cornell students only. We are not able to accept students from other law schools.
All Cornell students contemplating a semester abroad should first read carefully the law school’s Standards and Procedures for Semesters Abroad.
Cornell students wishing to apply for a semester abroad must complete and submit an Application for Semester Abroad (pdf) by the relevant deadline.
Partner Schools:
Please note: Semester abroad programs operated by U.S. law schools will not be approved.
