Janet M. Gillespie is the Administrative Supervisor for Access Services at the Cornell Law Library. She graduated from Wells College with a B.A. in History. She also received an M.S. from Cornell University with a major in curriculum and instruction and a minor in Modern Chinese History. Janet started her professional life as a high school Social Studies teacher and then moved into library work. Her first library position was in Public Services at the Ithaca College Library. She then spent a year at Mann Library and five years at The Flower Veterinary Library before moving onto the Law Library in 1985. She has worked in the areas of circulation and reserve, stacks management, interlibrary loan, and reference. Presently Janet oversees these areas and works at the reference desk. She is a member of the American Association of Law Librarians and has attended many of their meetings. Over the years she has served on many Cornell University Library committees, the last being the Access Services Committee.
