Join Femi Cadmus, the Edward Cornell Law Librarian, Associate Dean for Library Services, and Senior Lecturer in Law for a discussion on how law libraries can remain relevant in a digital era. Hear how law schools, private firms and government legal departments have been downsizing their law libraries over the past decade, often in the mistaken belief that on-line legal resources can provide a sufficient substitute for a physical well run library. Many now agree that vital services and benefits to users have been lost in the process. For example, law libraries provide space for users to browse unique print resources serendipitously, study in inspiring spaces, and also collaborate effectively with colleagues. Furthermore the expertise of well-trained law librarians is indispensable in this current environment of ever increasing, bewildering, and exponential growth of electronic information.
