Submissions

The Articles Office has now concluded spring article selection for Volume 94 and will not be selecting any articles this summer.

We will resume selection in August and would again welcome review of your submission at that time.  Additionally, we will not be able to accomodate any expedite requests prior to resuming selection in August.  Please note that if you previously submitted your article for consideration in the spring, you must resubmit your article in order to be considered during our fall selection process.  The Cornell Law Review ExpressO site will begin accepting submissions on August 15, 2008. Thank you for your interest in the Cornell Law Review.

How to Submit Your Article
Electronic submission through ExpressO is strongly preferred. If a hard copy submission is necessary, please mail your article to:

The Articles Office
Cornell Law Review
Myron Taylor Hall
Ithaca, New York 14853

Please note that articles received via e-mail cannot be processed, and that submissions will not be returned. Finally, please do not submit your article through both ExpressO and hard copy, as this will create two entries in our database.

Article Length
The Cornell Law Review is a signatory to the Joint Statement on article length. Accordingly, authors should be aware that although we have no minimum or maximum page requirements for submissions, we do have a strong preference for submissions that are 30,000 words or less, including text and footnotes.

Citations should conform to the 18th edition of The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation.

Expedited Reviews
Please note that because article review will not begin until late February, we are unable to accommodate requests for expedited review until that time.

To request expedited review of an article, please do so via ExpressO or by e-mail to Senior Article Editor Thomas L. Harris.  Please include “request for expedited review” somewhere in the subject line of the e-mail. Expedite requests must include the name of the competing journal that has extended an offer of publication and the date by which a decision is due. Please note that due to the high volume of these requests, review of an article by a particular deadline may not be possible.

Withdrawing Your Submission
Please notify the Articles Office as soon as possible if you are withdrawing an article.
