Student Orientation Schedule

Our Orientation Program takes place on Monday, August 25, and Tuesday, August 26. As this program is mandatory for all new students, you must arrive at Cornell Law School by the morning of Monday, August 25. Classes begin on Wednesday, August 27.

Once classes begin, important programs and events for new students will continue throughout the months of August and September.

Before or after registering, please join your new classmates for a casual breakfast.

REGISTRATION FOR ALL NEW STUDENTS

First-year class section lists, first class assignments, and room assignments for Tuesday's small section meetings are posted in the glass-enclosed bulletin board across from the Saperston Student Lounge in Myron Taylor Hall on the ground level.

Check out the bulletin board, and then proceed down the hall to your right. Every student has an individual mail folder (we call them "Flexes") located on the left side of the hallway past the staircase. Locate your Flex.

To minimize lines, we ask that you arrive in the Foyer according to the following schedule:

In addition to checking you in, we will take your picture for our law school directory.

Note: your picture will be available to all faculty and administrators and will later be available to employers who visit the law school. No need to dress up but please dress accordingly-no hats, t-shirts, etc.

After you have your photo taken , proceed immediately to the Berger Atrium. Registrar staff will be on hand to formally register you as a Cornell University student. Your course schedule, ID cards, book, and coat locker assignments will be available.

DEAN'S WELCOMING SPEECH

Auditorium, Anabel Taylor Hall

Dean Peñalver, Vice Dean Holden-Smith, and Associate Dean Geiger will officially welcome you to Cornell Law School. In addition, you will be introduced to Associate Deans Femi Cadmus, Peter Cronin, Anne Lukingbeal, Richard Robinson, Laura Spitz, and Laura Underkuffler.

LUNCH WITH ALUMNI PANEL

Under the tent in the Myron Taylor Hall courtyard

Join your classmates for lunch under the tent in the courtyard and hear alumni speakers Franci Blassberg AB '75, JD '77, Of Counsel, Debevoise and Plimpton LLP; Ben Tettlebaum '12, Frank H.T. Rhodes Fellow, Conservation Law Foundation; Honorable Stephen C. Robinson AB '81, JD '84, Partner, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.
