Professional Biography

Sipho Stephen Nkosi is a Lecturer in the Department of Practical Business Law, in the Faculty of Law, at the University of Johannesburg. He is a PhD candidate with the University of the Western Cape. His research focuses on the relationship between the South African customary and constitutional law, with particular emphasis on the sub-Saharan African ethic of Ubuntu. He received his B Juris and LLB degrees from the University of Zululand, an LLM degree from the University of Johannesburg, and a Certificate in Sports Law from the University of Cape Town. He is also an admitted advocate of the High Court of South Africa. Mr Nkosi is married to Lerato (nee Lebesa), and together they have seven children and two grandchildren. He exercises regularly, and enjoys reading, listening to music and travelling.
