Apply: Graduate Legal Studies Degrees

Apply via LSAC to the LL.M. General and J.S.D. degree programs at Cornell Law School. Applicants will only be considered for one degree program. Our students matriculate in the fall semester on a full-time basis.


LL.M. General - Applicants must hold a first law degree from outside the United States and have proficiency in English.  For more information see LL.M. General.  The application must be submitted through the Law School Admission Council (LSAC).  

LL.M. in Law Technology and Entrepreneurship -Ideal candidates for the LLM degree at Cornell Tech are already-practicing attorneys or recent law graduates who possess strong academic or professional credentials, as well as an active interest in technology and entrepreneurship. For more information review the Law Tech program. Please note that Tech LLM will not qualify foreign-trained lawyers to sit for the New York bar exam

J.S.D. - Applicants must have completed a LL.M.-level degree or its equivalent.  For more information see J.S.D.  The application must be submitted through LSAC


The LL.M. General application will open on September 1 and the J.S.D. application will open on January 1.  Your application and all supporting documents must be submitted through the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) by the following deadlines:

LL.M. General - December 15
J.S.D. - May 1
