Mark Faber is currently Vice President, Corporate Counsel, Cyber and Privacy Law for The Prudential Insurance Company of America. Mark has served as a privacy attorney for Prudential since 2008. His responsibilities include knowledge of and application of domestic privacy laws such as the Gramm Leach Bliley Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, HIPAA and state insurance privacy laws to the use, disclosure, and security of customer and employee information. Mark provides advice on the privacy law issues associated with digital data collection and use, marketing and advertising, affiliate sharing and marketing, new technologies, and digital and data analytics activities and initiatives. Mark reviews new and amended domestic privacy laws; privacy language in vendor contracts; privacy notices, and security breaches. Mark analyzes international privacy and data protection laws and counsels Prudential on complex and varied international and multi-national privacy law issues regarding the collection and use of customer and employee information with emphasis on cross border data transfers. Mark is Chair of the Association of Corporate Counsel New Jersey Chapter Data Privacy Committee and is a member of the ACC New Jersey Chapter Board of Directors. He is also a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals, the American Council of Life Insurers Privacy Committee, the Privacy and Information Security Committee of the ABA, and the ACC IT, Privacy, and eCommerce Committee. Mark has been with Prudential since 1997. From 1997 to 2008, Mark was an attorney in Prudential’s Employment & Labor Section. Prior to working for Prudential, Mark spent 10 years as employment counsel for GTE.
Mark is a graduate of the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations and St. John’s University School of Law.
