State of the University Address and Keynote Panel
Join Martha E. Pollack, President, Cornell University, for a State of the University address, followed by Keeping the Promise: Stories from the Front Lines, a keynote panel moderated by Eduardo Peñalver ’94, Allan R. Tessler Dean and Professor of Law.
"Keeping the Promise: Stories from the Front Lines"
More than a century ago, Andrew Dickson White charged the fledgling Cornell Law School to train lawyers who would be “a blessing to the nation.” Today, nearly every student at the Law School spends a part of their legal education practicing in the public interest, translating theory to action and representing underserved communities. This session will feature stories from the front lines of legal advocacy, spotlighting how students and faculty are defending free speech and freedom of the press, helping vulnerable immigrants, fighting discrimination and supporting small businesses.
