“Since the first day of classes, Cornell has proved to be a hub for academic and professional events in which I have built a network of lawyers and scholars that will help me excel in my career.”
Congratulations to Alyssa Kastner ’24 who recently gave an oral argument in front of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit on behalf of GC, a Mexican national who grew up in the United States. Alyssa argued that the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals failed to properly consider the client’s mental illness when finding his crime “particularly serious.” She also argued that when denying withholding of removal, the agency failed to take into account whether the Mexican government was actually able to protect the client from further torture. As Estelle McKee, instructor in Asylum and Convention Against Torture Appellate Clinic, notes, "The chief judge`s compliments to Alyssa after the argument were well-deserved--Alyssa devoted significant time and effort to this argument, and it paid off!” Visit the link in our bio to watch the full argument. #CornellLaw #CornellLawClinics

We pride ourselves on being one of the top law schools in the nation, offering our students the chance to "do the greatest good" once they leave our institution. Admitted Student Day, is an annual event here at Cornell Law School, which provides admitted students with a chance to learn more about our school and the classes we offer, meet the wonderful faculty and staff we have here, as well as tour the law school and participate in a mock class! This year, our second Admitted Student Day, this Friday, April 12, has a record number of students attending! It all starts here for our students, and we can’t wait to begin this journey with them on their path to becoming “lawyers in the best sense!” #CornellLawSchool #lawyersinthebestsense #todothegreatestgood
