Clarke Business Law Institute

The Jack G. Clarke Institute for the Study and Practice of Business Law affords Cornell Law School students and faculty tremendous and unparalleled opportunities to contribute solutions to emerging complex legal issues in a global economy.

The Clarke Program on Law, Finance, and Transactions focuses on the intersection of law and finance, including analyses of business relationships from a finance perspective, as well as the structure of the financial markets, the behavior and governance of the institutions that comprise them, and the transactions that occur within them.

The Clarke Program on the Law and Regulation of Financial Institutions and Markets is devoted to understanding the key functions performed by banks, broker-dealers, investment companies, and other financial institutions in the U.S. and global economic systems, as well as the roles played by law both in optimizing those functions and in constituting the market environments in which they are performed.
