Alexandra Mitter is the Supervising Attorney and Director of the Justice First Project at the Center for Appellate Litigation in New York City. Upon graduation, Alexandra worked as an associate at Arnold & Porter LLP, where she represented corporations and individuals in a wide range of internal investigations as well as complex criminal and civil litigation. She also clerked for the Honorable Andrew L. Carter, Jr. and James L. Cott, both in the Southern District of New York.
Alexandra graduated Phi Beta Kappa and with highest distinction in History and Anthropology from the University of Michigan, and graduated cum laude from NYU School of Law, where she was the Symposium Editor of the Annual Survey of American Law. Through the Reentry Clinic in law school, she helped formerly incarcerated individuals obtain employment licensure in administrative hearings before the Secretary of State.
