Joseph Schottenfeld

Joe Schottenfeld is an Assistant Professor of Law and the Jia Jonathan Zhu & Ruyin Ruby Ye Sesquicentennial Faculty Fellow at Cornell Law School. Joe’s research explores the relationships between civil and criminal procedure, civil rights, and judicial institutions. His scholarship has appeared in or is forthcoming in the Columbia Law Review, University of Chicago Law Review, and Stanford Law Review.

Schottenfeld was previously a Bigelow Fellow at the University of Chicago Law School and an assistant general counsel at the NAACP. Prior to working for the NAACP, he clerked for Judge Marsha Berzon on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He received his JD from Yale Law School and his BA from Yale College.
