Biography
Sara Bensley serves as a Law Research and Instruction Librarian. She supports the Law Library’s research and reference services and teaches legal research to Cornell Law’s JD students, including in the Lawyering program. She enjoys working with both students and faculty, providing legal research instruction, reference services, and faculty support.
Before starting at Cornell, Sara filled similar roles at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where she taught legal research and served in positions focused on emerging legal technology and scholarly communications. Prior to her career in law librarianship, she practiced for many years as an antitrust associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and clerked for the Hon. Richard J. Cardamone of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
Sara earned her J.D. from Cornell Law School, where she was a managing editor of the Cornell Law Review, and her M.L.I.S. in Law Librarianship from the University of Washington. She also holds a B.A. from Georgetown University. Her professional interests include legal research, scholarly communication, and the ways emerging technologies are reshaping legal practice and education.
