Peter Martin, emeritus professor of law, was awarded the Law Library Journal Article of the Year Award by the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL).  Amoung AALL’s most prestigious awards, the Law Library Journal Article of the Year Award honors outstanding achievement in researching and writing an article published in Law Library Journal for the preceding volume year.

Titled, “District Court Opinions That Remain Hidden Despite a Longstanding Congressional Mandate of Transparency–The Result of Judicial Autonomy and Systemic Indifference,” 110 Law Library Journal 305 (2018), Martin’s piece explores the E-Government Act of 2002 and how, fifteen years later, the promise of the legislation remains unfulfilled.

Unable to attend the 112th annual event in Washington D.C., Martin requested that Kim Nayyer, Edward Cornell Law Librarian, Associate Dean for Library Services, accept the award on his behalf.
